Tad Piper

Senior Advisor

Tad has been working with the team since 2000. Tad worked for Piper Jaffray from 1969 through 2006, serving as assistant syndicate manager, director of securities trading and director of sales and marketing. He served as CEO of Piper Jaffray from 1983 to 2000 and also as chairman from 1988 to 2003. From 1998 through 2006, Tad also had responsibility for venture and private capital fund activities at Piper Jaffray. 

Tad is a member of the board of directors of Piper Jaffray, Minnesota Public Radio, American Public Media Group, MinnCAN, the Leuthold Group, Predex Capital Management and is chair of the Board of Regents of St. Olaf College. He is the former chair of Abbott Northwestern Hospital, former chair of Minnesota Public Radio, former director of Allina Health System, former trustee of the Stanford University Business School Trust, former vice-chair of the Board of Governors of the Securities Industry Association and former chair of the NYSE Regional Firms Advisory Group Committee. Tad received a BS in economics from Williams College and an MBA from Stanford University.
