Responsible Investing

North Sky Capital has a responsibility to act in the best long-term interest of our investors. We believe our commitment to incorporating environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors can positively affect the performance of our investments. Including ESG analysis into our diligence is a beneficial tool to identify investment opportunities that are well-run and forward-thinking.

North Sky Capital is a founding member of the Intentional Endowments Network, which is a collaborative organization working to advance a variety of intentionally designed endowments. Through this advancement, the Intentional Endowments Network and it’s contributors aim to create a better, more sustainable society for everyone, all while focusing on ESG integration and impact investing.

We are proud to be a signatory to the Principles of Responsible Investing and are committed to upholding the investment values expected of us. The UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment initiative is an international network of investors working together to put the six important principles of Responsible Investment into practice with the goal of achieving an economically efficient, sustainable global financial system that will benefit the environment and society as a whole.

The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment, of which North Sky Capital is a member, is the US membership association engaged in sustainable, responsible, and impact investing that looks to advance investment practices that consider environmental, social and corporate governance criteria to generate long-term competitive financial returns and positive societal impact.

We are a member of Confluence Philanthropy, an international organization that looks to build a network philanthropic leadership in mission-related investing through education, outreach, and peer-to-peer learning, increase the capacity of foundations and donors to practice mission-related investing, and accelerate the field of mission-related investing.

We are proud that North Sky Capital has been selected for the second year as an ImpactAssets 50. The IA 50 is the first publicly available database that provides a gateway into the world of impact investing for investors and their financial advisors, offering an easy way to identify experienced impact investment firms and explore the landscape of potential investment options. IA 50 selected firms based on experienced managers across a breadth of geographies, asset classes and impact areas of focus.

In the Fall of 2015, the office building where North Sky Capital resides was awarded LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED stands for leadership in energy and environmental design and addresses energy efficiency, whole-building cleaning and maintenance issues, recycling programs, exterior maintenance programs and system upgrades. Here at North Sky Capital, we truly commit to the energy efficiency that we invest in.
