As a biomass production company, Enviva is supporting the energy transition away from fossil fuels. Enviva uses low-quality wood to produce wood pellets to be used for bioenergy. The 1.1M metric tonnes of wood pellets sold annually by Enviva will displace 508,024 metric tonnes of coal annually that would otherwise be burned for energy purposes. This reduction in coal consumption will prevent 999,023 metric tonnes of CO2 from being emitted annually.

Enviva Biomass Impact

Paddle Energy (“Paddle”) is a development company focused on the community solar segment of the renewables market. Paddle also taps into another growing trend, which is to pair energy storage (batteries) with solar installations to enable 24/7 power from solar panels. Paddle’s small-to-medium scale ground mount solar and energy storage system projects are anticipated to generate 50 MW of clean energy in the next five years.

Project Charlotte is a 5.2 MW waste-to-power project located in Charlotte, North Carolina that has the capacity to convert poultry waste and food waste into 500,000 MMBtu of renewable natural gas per year to be distributed into the local gas utility.

Project Plymouth is a 3.2 MW waste-to-power project located in Johnston, Rhode Island that has the capacity to convert food waste and liquid waste into 320,000 MMBtu of renewable natural gas per year while diverting more than 2,200 metric tons of methane from being flared into the atmosphere.
