As an Operating Partner at North Sky Capital, Dale is a member of our sustainable infrastructure team, bringing more than 15 years of renewable power development and operating experience.
Career Background
● Founding Partner, FLS Energy: Dale co-founded FLS Energy in Asheville, North Carolina, and served as the company’s first President. He oversaw its growth from start up to over $350mm in revenue. In 2013, he was promoted to CEO, and helped steer the company to a successful exit when FLS sold its operating assets to sPower (now AES Clean Energy) in 2015. The company was acquired by Cypress Creek Renewables in 2016. North Sky’s first sustainable infrastructure fund was a significant investor in FLS and played an active role in its impressive growth. ● Scottsdale Construction Company: Previously Dale was Owner/General contractor of Scottsdale Construction Company for 12 years. ● Crest Enterprises Ltd: Prior to that, he was Controller/Staff Accountant for Crest Enterprises Ltd.
Personal Background
Dale has proudly served on advisory boards for Western Carolina University’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology Program and the University of North Carolina Energy Frontier Research Center’s Industrial Advisory Board. He served as a member of the SEIA Federal Advisory Committee and sits on the ACORE Advisory Committee. He is the 2012 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award recipient. Dale received his degree in accounting/business administration from Nasson College.
