Responsibilities
As a Managing Director at North Sky Capital, Mike is responsible for sourcing, analyzing, executing and monitoring the firm’s investments. He is part of North Sky’s senior management team and is actively involved in strategic planning, fund development and staffing decisions. Mike also serves as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee.
Career Background
● TerraVest Income Fund: Mike sourced and evaluated acquisition opportunities across Canada and completed transactions for the TerraVest Income Fund, a publicly traded Canadian diversified business income trust. ● Vice President, Piper Jaffray & Co.: Mike served as an officer in Piper Jaffray’s investment banking group, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions. ● Vice President, Deephaven Capital Management: Mike was co-founder of the Small Cap Portfolio Group at Deephaven, a multi-strategy hedge fund.
Personal Background
Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
