Responsibilities
As CEO and Managing Director at North Sky Capital, Scott oversees the management and strategic direction of the firm and all its investment activities. He participates in all aspects of sourcing, analysis, and execution of investment decisions as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee.
Career Background
● Director of Private Equity for Piper Jaffray Private Capital: From 2000 to 2010, North Sky Capital was the private equity division of Piper Jaffray & Co., and Scott led the team while also serving as a member of Piper Jaffray’s Merchant Banking Investment Committee. ● Attorney, Dorsey & Whitney, LLP: As a member of Dorsey’s emerging companies group, Scott advised start-up companies and private equity firms on LBO and VC transactions as well as M&A, IPO, and other corporate finance matters. ● Analyst, Citigroup: Scott served an analyst in Citigroup’s M&A department in New York.
Personal Background
Scott was recently a Board Member of TPT Public Broadcasting—Twin Cities. Scott and his wife founded the Minneapolis Police Foundation in 2019 to bolster community outreach and support the men and women who protect and serve Minneapolis. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from Macalester College, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his JD degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
